Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3

Film and Television | 3D Modeling & Visualization | Concept Design & Illustration

I had the incredible opportunity to join the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 team as a props illustrator, where I worked closely with the legendary Russell Bobbitt and an amazingly talented group of artists and craftspeople. Most of my work centered around concepting and 3D modeling props to be built for on-screen use and prepped for manufacturing.

During my time on the project, I contributed designs for a wide range of props — some of the notable ones include Groot’s blasters, Peter Quill’s mini blaster, Gamora’s new blaster and holster, and the Orgosentry guard rifle and bazooka. I also developed Rocket's chalkboard and pen, the Bowie ship’s fusion core and seatbelts, the medpacks and currency units, Rocket’s chest-mounted medpack, and his file device used by Nebula. In addition, I modeled the kids’ gaming table based on concept art by John Eaves.

Many more designs and models were created during the project, some of which made it into the final film and others that remained behind the scenes. Each piece was modeled with the intent of being physically fabricated for the screen.

This project was particularly special to me — it marked my first on-screen credit and was the first major film I worked on after transitioning full-time into my film and television career. I am truly grateful and humbled to have been part of such a creative and supportive team, and proud to have contributed to a film that means so much to so many people.
